Foxconn or Asrock?

I've made a decision today and I'm both happy and sad. I gave away my Asrock G31M-Vs2 motherboard for a Foxconn M61PMV. It's faster cause I now have a triple core processor clocked at 2.30Ghz versus my old Intel Pentium dual core clocked at 1.8. The question still lingers, have I made the right decision? I do gaming and CGI.

Solution
yah that is true. but since you are not changing your CPU Foxconn was a better choice you can put 1066 ram on it and asrock only supports 800 ram

@vahe bro a thank you, I was just a bit skeptical since the Asrock supported many 775 processors even clocked at 3.+Ghz when foxconn's website said this supported up to quad core 2.8GHz

Thank you. You really know your stuff :). I have another question can I use any CPU thats AM2+ or can i only use those that are on the cpu support list?

yah you can use AM2+ Phenom / Athlon 64 X2 / Sempron series. Not Phenom II. when you buy the CPU make sure to read what Watts it uses. your motherboard only supports" Designed for low power CPU's 95w and lower." So 95W AM2+ CPU's only

I've been checking some processors out and the best I could find is the Agena phenom clocked at 2.5GHz or 2.8GHz. Is there anything better? I keep wondering if these CPUs are obselete, having DDR2 n all. Is it worth upgrading ram and processor...

Okay, think I'll head that route then, I need a graphics card for the moment though. I'll buy that and keep it until I use it on the new mobo. Do you have any motherboard and cpu combination that you recommend? I'll be working with a $200 budget for the moment as I'm low on dinero.

Thanks a lot, I'll get these. Maybe I won't upgrade until a few months but eventually I will. Performance here isn't too bad at the moment so I'm still hanging on.
