Getting a new mouse, Laser or Optical?

Hello everyone, I'm gonna cut straight to the point for the people who don't like "long" introductions:

So my mouse (it's a generic Acer office mouse, its own Online store doesn't even seem to find it, or anywhere else) has started malfunctioning, in which sense? the LMB is not responding as well, for every 2-3 working clicks, 1-2 clicks will not respond and simply do nothing.
This issue gets really frustrating when playing Terraria, CSGO, LoL and other games I have.
So I'm requesting help from the community if I should get a Laser or Optical mouse (It's gonna be wired on both cases)
But here's a couple things:
I use NO Mousepad, I hate using them, I use my desk, made of wood.

Since I'm most likely gonna get another office mouse to be casual & comfortable playing, my budget is not above the $50's, I'm not that dedicated into having a killer Gaming setup.
A brand and if possible, a specific mouse would be appreciated as well!

Thank you in advance for your honest reply!

Hi nschanto,
I would go with Logitech for mouse and depending on your budget i would reccomend you to buy either g400s , g402 or g502. I know the g502 is a bit expencive but it worth the money for solid product and also has the ability to adjust the optical sensor to all kind of surfaces. That will suit you since you not using mousepad.
