I would like to know if anyone can explain what is going on with my hard drive.
The short question is: Why does my laptops hard drive work as an external device but when it is hooked up to my laptop, it does not boot windows?
Two things I have done. After I started getting the blue screen of death. First I tried the hard drive on another laptop of the same model and I received the same error message. I hooked it up to my desktop and it worked fine as an external drive. Next I decided to just reinstall windows. That didn't work, the CD would run, the windows installation process began but would stop and give me the same error message. I then changed the BIOS setup for the HD from SATA AHCI to the only other option "compatability". Everything seemed to start working. Windows installed and the laptop restarted. But windows never booted.
WHat is going on?.....
