My CPU is overheating and PC is shutting down every time I play the witcher 3

So my normal temp for cpu is 35c to 50c when playing most games like bioshock infinite or shadow of mordor or even GTA V , but when I start the witcher 3 even with the lowest settings my CPU temp jumps up to 70c to 85c, I've already invested 30 hours into the witcher 3 and it became one of my favorite games , but its been like 3 weeks since i played it. please help

EVGA GTX 970
I7-4790k
2x8 gb kingston ram

check your cpu cooler if it's fitted properly on your motherboard.
if you're using the bundled stock cooler, consider getting an after market cooler for the cpu.
