Solution
You download them with another computer and use a USB stick to move them to your laptop. Unless, of course, you have an Ethernet connection that works on the laptop, which is independent of the need for your wireless to work.

It will help you get an answer if you include the model of your laptop. And which OS version, 7 or 8?

Most current laptops do not have a physical switch now, but use a combination of the Fn key and an F key or Print Screen depending on the brand.

IIRC, that model uses the Fn + F11 key to toggle wireless on and off. The Vostro line has known issues with that working properly.

Some suggest going into the bios, turn off wireless, hit apply, then turn on wireless, hit apply, then restart if the wireless is actually enable in the bios and the latest correct driver installed.

Hopefully, you are running 32 bit Windows 7. If so, DELL SUPPORT has wireless drivers under the network tab on the driver page. There are a number of wireless modules that shipped with the Vostro 1015 and you may need to enter your service tag number to get the actual build and figure out which is in your machine, and thus which of the many wireless drivers that you need.

Then use another computer to download the proper network drivers. Make the time.
