Im using Dell Lattitude E7240. i heard it is normmaly used for work but i think the specs should be able to be used for gaming as well as it is well above the requirements. even my old desktop which has i5 processor can run the games smoothly. mine is i7 .. help anyone?

Lag is based on the point of view. I was only watching video of LoL so it seems okay to me. If I were actually playing LoL, then it is possible I would notice some lag. However, the point is that the Surface Pro 2 is able to play LoL at 1080p and what seems to be acceptable FPS with very high settings. You can always lower graphic settings for improved performance.

Considering the fact that the Intel HD 4400 is an integrated graphics core and it is weak compared to a dedicated graphics chip, you have to accept the fact that sooner or later you are going to experience lag.

The CPU itself can also affect lag because the more units there are on screen the more units the CPU must keep track of while the graphics core renders the graphics.

Processor : i7-4600U CPU @2.10GHz 2.70GHz
8 GB RAM
graphics card : intel HD graphics 4400 ??
what do you mean example of graphics settings? sorry imma tech noob .. but i play all the games on low settings and it still lags. .

Okay, "low settings" is a general description of graphic settings. What about the resolution? And specifically what games are you trying to play. Perhaps you should try

The Intel HD 4400 is capable of playing games as long as they are not too graphically demanding. For example, I recently installed Skyrim on my laptop because a friend of mine wanted to play but his laptop only had an Intel HD 4400 graphics core. I play the game on my desktop, but my laptop has very similar specs to his laptop. I installed the game and tweaked the graphic settings in the SkyrimPref.ini file and let him play the game on my laptop for a while.

I setup Skyrim at 1600x900 resolution and basically disabled shadows with some other tweaks it the above mentioned INI file. Running around outdoors resulted in frame rates between 25 FPS - 35 FPS, but mostly it was around 30 FPS. In Whiterun (a city) performance basically ranged between 29 FPS - 46 FPS, but was mostly in the 39+ FPS range. Lowering the resolution to 1366x768 probably improved performance by 7 FPS - 10 FPS on average.

I can play Star Trek Online with the intel HD 4400 at 1600x900 resolution, but I do need to deal with server lag from time to time which is typical for online games. The following Youtube basically focuses on games played using a Surface Pro 2 (Core i5-4200u + Intel HD 4400). You can use it as a guide for possible games you are considering buying. Or use it to compare the performance of a game you have tried if there is a video for it. According to the Youtuber, he is using a video capture device instead of recording software so you should be seeing the actual performance of the game.

thanks for the info! i'm actually trying to play LoL and Minecraft mainly, but also tried downloading an old version of mario, which is not graphics demanding at all i think? and still it lags haha. but i'll check the video up thanks again :)

Both games should be playable on your laptop.

SurfaceProGamer has a video of LoL being played at on his Surface Pro 2 at 1080p with graphic settings at very high. I think the FPS was around 30 FPS - 35 FPS.

Perhaps reinstalling Windows will help. Dell includes the Windows install disk with all there business laptops.

For reference the laptop I tested Skyrim and Star Trek Online is the 15.6" Dell Latitude 3540. Which has a Core i5-4200u, and a dedicated Radeon HD 8850m graphics chip, but stated I used the Intel HD 4400 for testing purposes.

But isn't FPS 30-35 kinda laggy? i get that FPS too in low settings, but when i play PvP and get close to the opponents or with more minions around me, my FPS will drop to 10-20, and sometimes can't even move at all, and attempts to reconnect. doubt it's internet problem cause my other PC does this fine. anyway thanks for update, will think about reinstalling windows.
