Hey guys
I recently bought a new motherboard (MSI 970 Gaming) and a second gpu (same as the first, MSI GTX 760 2gb). After assembling the new components into my PC, it all runs smoothly, except i cant for the love of me get my second GPU to work with my original.

Now, firstly, i know for a fact i put the cards in the right slots and no, i didnt forget to install the SLI bridge!!!

When i flick on the power, i can see both GPU's run (so i know it cant be a PSU problem, ive been told many times 750W is plenty for an SLI configuration.). However only the GPU that is placed in the top PCI slot is detected, when i plug in my HDMI cable into the top GPU, my monitor gets signal. However when i plug it into the bottom gpu, nothing. My device manager and the motherboard BIOS both say only one GPU is installed and that the bottom PCI slot is free & not being used, despite the second graphics card being installed and running.

Next i took both GPU's out and placed each one in the top PCI slot on its own. Both worked completely fine. So i know both graphics cards are ok and actually work.
I did exactly the same with the bottom PCI slot, the cards had power but my monitor wasnt picking up anything for either.

I have uninstalled, cleaned and installed the latest and freshest drivers for my mobo, and gpu's. Still, nothing.
I tried a second SLI bridge, still nothing.
Both Nvidia Control Panel & Windows Device Manager only ever pick up on GPU installed in the top PCI slot and never both.

Ive tried everything i can possibly think of or find solutions for online and im still stumped.

Thank you so much to anyone that has advice. I'm desperate now!

Hi have you properly enabled sli? Might sound stupid :)
Go into NVIDIA control panel from desktop and under 3D settings theres a tab for 'enable sli configuration'.
Also make sure sli is enabled in the BIOS of the mobo

There is no option anywhere to "enable SLI" on nvidia control panel.

How do i enable SLI in the BIOS?

There use to be an option under UEFI advanced settings in BIOS, are you sure its the msi 970 gaming mobo coz theres 2 that are pretty much the same but 1 doesnt support SLI. Coz that would explain why theres no option in nvidia control, apart from that im not sure

I've got the box in my hand right now, its definitely the gaming edition.

I'll try the bios method now.

It's alright mate, Couldnt find a single setting inside my bios that even mentioned SLI

When i check my hardware, it says the top PCI slot is in use (my top GPU) but it says the bottom one is free despite the second GPU being installed in that slot.

*sigh* :(
