Hello
I was planning on getting myself a google cardboard vr set, unfortunately my phone doesn't have a gyroscope in it.
So I was wondering if there is some sort of external gyroscope sensor that would be connected through the micro usb port.

Solution
No, I don't think so any external gyroscope is available. Maybe because its not needed, phones can have it built in plus its size is very small, having it externally makes no sense.

actually it makes perfect sense. Many NEW phones have gyroscopes, but many phones only a year old do not.
The new VR and AR applications for smartphones such as google cardboard give a totally new use for everyday smartphones. Hence the need for a gyroscope. My phone has an octo core processor, yet doesnt have a gyro.
The only work around I have heard of, is someone figured out a way to use a bluetooth, gyroscope mouse. then attached it ti the vr headset.
goofy looking, but it apparently worked.

Same here, just bought the new HTC Desire 630, still no Gyro. I wonder if they will update the game so that the majority of us without the gyroscope can play trough the AR mode.
