I just bought a xfx r9 280x amd Raedon graphics card and found out I need a 750 watt power supply so could I have my 500 watt power supply run my mother board processor and everything else and have my 750 watt power supply run just the graphics card? And can they both run together at the same time?

your 750 watt power supply can run everything together i use a 600w corsair power supply and it runs 2 graphics cards i have so thier should be no problem with just 1 750 watt i guess if u wanted you can do what you were asking but i fell that whould look dumb and fell wrong so id just use ur one 750w your should have no problem

this is the card i have 2 off its a evga ftw 4g 960

also if your buying a 750w be sure to get a name brand i know my old 500w failed when i put a new card into mine but if it was a 500w corsair at the time i whould have been fine but it was a turbo link

The 750w requirement is not for the GPU only, it's a recommended value for the entire system using that GPU.

A 750w PSU (at least Bronze certified) is more than enough for a system with a 280x, even a 600~650w PSU would suffice...
