how many fans does a pc need?

Solution
As long as you have one intake (preferably with a dust filter in front of it) a the font and one exhaust fan at the back you'll be fine. If your case allows try using 120mm or upwards sized fans.

Typically
Larger diameter = More air moved per revolution
More air moved per revolution = Less rotations to match the air flow of a smaller fan
Less rotations to match the air flow of a smaller fan = Less noise

Water cooling is mostly for overclocking or to keep noise down.

The CPU (Processor) usually comes with a stock heat sink and fan, which is fine for standard usage.
Your GPU (video Card) will usually have at least 1 fan, depending on the model.
Your PSU (power supply) will usually have it's own fan as well.
It's good to have 2 or more case fans, an intake (pulling air in) in the front and a exhaust (blowing air out) in the back.
