Here is my new build: It is pretty much the same as my previous build except for the new graphics case extra fans and a fan controller, I also want to be ready for next year for when AM4 comes out with DDR4 ram so that means new processor new motherboard and new ram not sure what the power draw will be.

AMD FX-8350
NZXT Kraken X60
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
16GB Kingston Beast 1866 Ram
HIS 7970 3Gb DDR3 Gigahurtz edition
HIS R9 280X 3Gb DDR3
256GB Adata SSD
2X 1TB Barracuda HDD,
Corsair Vengeance C70 (I know case doesn't matter but thought I would list it)
6 Noctua 140MM fans
4 Noctua 120MM fans
NZXT Sentry Mix 2 fan controller
Asus cd-burner thingy drive hardware that I never use

I just used one of those power supply calculators I used this one.
http://powersupplycalculator.net/1
And it says I will be using 118W at Idle and 744W under load and it recommends a 920W power supply and that didn't calculate my water cooler but it got everything else. So I guess I should get a 1000W power supple at minimum? or should I go bigger? Is that EVGA one I picked good enough or should I pick a different one to be honest psu's are the part in a PC that I know the least about. So any advice will be appreciated I love to learn.

i was looking at some of the higher wattage ones and I really don't want to spend $300 if possible I would like to stay around the $200 price range going a little over is OK but being under would be WAY better.

So to some it up here are my questions I need answers to.

Should I go bigger than 1000W to be ready for DDR4 and AM4 socket when it comes out?
Is EVGA a good brand?
If not what btand should I go for?

So these are the 2 that I picked don't know if they are good enough or which one is better.

Or this one

I honestly like the 1050W one just because of the mesh sleeved wires. If either one of these aren't good enough or are just plain crap please let me know what you would suggest.

Calculators are junk. I haven't seen one ever that was even close to accurate.

Cpu 125w
Everything else including 45w worth of fans 150w
Gpu(s) 600w

Grand total maximum possible wattage = 875w
RealHardTechX recommended psu for 280x CF = 900w.

The Evga GS is based off a Seasonic G series platform and is very good. The Evga G1 is an FSP group and mediocre at best.

Of the 2, the GS is by far the better psu. But, for that money, you can get much better, or even for less, by not sticking strictly with Amazon.

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-x1050

Of these 4, the GS is the worst, then the Rosewill, then tie for top honors between th Seasonic X and the Evga G2 (SuperFlower)

On a scale of 1-10, you'd be looking at 9/9.5/10/10. The Evga G1 be about 4.

I'm not going to over clock at all. My main concern is being ready for the AM4 to run the new processor ddr4 and a AM4 mother board. I know the specs arn't out yet but I am assuming they will draw more power. I don't understand tier1 tier 2. I just want to get the best I can for $200 warranty is not that important to me as performance.

I do like the seasonic but that gold won't match anything in my case and I'm sure if I paint it the warranty will be voided.

I also want to be able to run between 3 and 5 HDD

OK so I just read the difference between the tiers. I would like to stay in tier 1. Like I said performance is more important to me.

still stick with PSU i suggested you will have 150w room for new CPU i highley doubt it will use that much power, but if it will you will have space

The higher on Tier PSU is the better quality it si so TIER 1 PSU is better than Tier 2 and so on...

and btw you wont see that gold fan grill on Seasnoic if you decide to buy it you turn the PSU fan so it faces the flor for intake

You can trust this list completely. The recommended wattage is for an entire system with the graphics cards listed.

http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

The EVGA SuperNova 1000G2 recommended above by Archaic59 and Karadjgne is the best bang for your buck. It's made by SuperFlower and has a 10 year warranty. Performance is as good as anything on the market. You can get equal quality with a high end Seasonic or Corsair AXi but you will pay more and the EVGA has a better warranty.

Not always. Depends on case orientation. Some cases, the psu is set up off the floor a fraction of an inch, and the psu is fan down. Or the case has a bottom grill, so psu is fan down to match. Some cases have neither, so the psu sits fan up. Psu exhaust is always out the back, no matter what orientation the intake.

The Evga 1000w G2 is the best option then, if the coloring of the Seasonic X doesn't work. It's also cheaper, slightly.

Given a $200 limit, the actual best would be the Evga P2 1000w, which has slightly better ripple but platinum efficiency vrs the G2's gold. Other than that, same SuperFlower excellence.

That is not true fans on the PSU dont blow air out they are intake fans the suck air in, there is a reason why there are holes no the bottom of the case where you put PSU, if you put fan up it will suck hot air.

So on the PSU fan sucks air in the PSU and psuch it at the back of the PSU through holes where the power switch is

Heat exhausts out the back of a power supply. When it mounts at the bottom of a case with the inside fan mounted downward it's so the fan pulls in cold air from outside the case instead of pulling hot air from inside the case through it to cool itself. My power supply mounts like that in my NZXT Phantom 820. It's the best way. Top mount is the worst since heat rises. Bottom mount with the fan facing up is better but it's still pulling hot air from inside the case. Bottom mount with a cutout for the fan to face down is best.

Your right about the fan on the power supply I looked at my Coolermaster I currently have and the fan mounts on the bottom. But looking at the Seasonic if I mounted the fan on the bottom everything would be upside down which I think would be worse than having the gold. I think I will just paint it and pray it doesn't void the warranty. I mean I have seen plenty of people painting brand new components online. Does that mean they are all voiding warranty's immediately?

Also after studying the Corsair Vengeance C70 I am glad I haven't purchased it yet I don't like it it does not meet my criteria at all. So I have decided on the Corsair 750D Air Flow Edition.

Just to be sure here is my complete build I would like to do. Just want to make sure the 1050W Seasonic can handle it. In the future I might add a custom water cooling loop and honestly don't know how much power that will consume. I also might add more hard drives.

Changed What I am going to do I decided against crossfire because of the problems that come along with it. Strongly leaning towards getting a single Gigabyte R9 390X. SO with that being change would the Seasonic 1050 X Series be over kill? If so please help me find another one I would like to stay in tier 1.
Here is what I want to power. left the power supply blank.

390X is a factory overclocked 290X with 4 extra GB of RAM that is useless. Buy a 290X and overclock it. Same performance and cheaper.
