Adding my first graphics card? Compatibility?

I built a computer a while ago & I'd like to add on to it now.

My specs are the following
MSI Z97 G45 Gaming Motherboard

Intel Core i5 4690K

1TB Western Digital WD10EZEX

Corsair CS550M Gold Certified Power Supply

Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8 GB

I am thinking about adding a GTX 960 Motherboard and a 128 gb ssd that is good but not too expensive but not too cheap.

I'm a newbie so how do I know what to look in for a video card, like the ram of a graphics card? Speed?

Also, for SSD's, what should I look into that's best? Which companies? Thank you! :)

He can get a 4gb gtx 960 ya know, and judging from his build, I am guessing he is gaming at 1080p. I think the 960 is fine. Also, if is getting a 970, he should get a 390, as it performs better and costs less.

I recommend the 380 4GB over the 960, it has bigger memory bandwidth therefore can utilize the VRAM better. The XFX variant is one I'll be purchasing soon.

As for an SSD, there is the Samsung 850 Evo http://goo.gl/yBT2lw I have this SSD in my smaller build and been keeping running for a while.
