Hi Guys!
So im building my first ever gaming pc and i want it to be a bit overkill for my monitor which is 1600x900 so is the 970 overkill for 900p and will it able to get 60+ at ultra on games like witcher 3,watch dogs, far cry 4 etc..? :??: and i cant get a 1080p monitor because of some budget issues :( TIA :)
These are the parts i'm gonna get :
I5 4590(Non-K)
Zotac GTX 970
8GB 1600MHz HyperFury RAM
Gigabyte ga-h97-d3h

An i5-4690 is a great cpu choice, but the i5-4690K is a lot better. So you are using 900p, because you cannot afford 1080p? Because those specs are overkill for 900p, you should at least run at 1080p. Also I would recommend the Zotac 970 I would buy the MSI 970, its so much better than Zotac.

Yes, the GTX970/i5 4590 is overkill for 1600x900 res, but this is a new rig, so you'll want to get as much performance as possible out of it, if you drop the graphics card now, you'll only have to upgrade sooner and there's always the possibility of the ('ll guess quite old) monitor dying, in which case you'll almost certainly go for a 1080 replacement.

But just one point: I'd up the power supply quality, the VS are OK parts but a little short on life expectancy and warranty coverage, several companies like XFX and Seasonic offer 5 year warranties for example, in addition to a generally higher build quality.
