MB: asus z97-9
CPU: i7 4790k
MEM: 16gb
GPU: evg gtx 770/4gb

not a gamer, videos, web, movies, music apps, mainly on this machine.

reading the forums and reviews regarding 27" monitors and i'm about ready to pull the trigger on two 27" 2560x1440 asus monitors. you know how it is, gotta keep checking...

my concern is whether the GTX 770/4gb gpu will be enough for these dual monitors.

would the 770 GPU be in a major strain or upgrade GPU? if to upgrade i'd probably go with the 970 due to cost diff with 980? i don't know, so i post and get feedback.

Solution
A gtx 770 could run one 1440p monitor at reasonable fps at medium settings on most games.

A gtx980Ti would shoe it in with one 1440p monitor. And also make reasonable framerates on 2 x 1440p screens.

doesn't leave many choices.

how bout , "EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC ACX 2.0+ Graphics Card 06G-P4-4993-KR"

would that be sufficient gpu power for 2 x 27" monitors? or what if

i got one monitor vs two like the, "Wasabi-Mango 4k 42" IPS monitor?

thanks for the link.

just for me to be clear, if i got the "Wasabi 42" 4k", the GTX 980Ti would push it ok. $100 price diff between the 980 and 980Ti.

anyway, i'm thinking one monitor would be more to my liking that say 2 x 27"...i have to get a new GPU anyways with either setup to do either setup justice.

i see the Radeon Fury X and Fury are about same ballpark price. nevermind, i don't want to overthink this.

looks like gtx 980Ti is what you experts recommend whether i get 2 x 27" or one big 42" wasabi(while its price is affordable).

thx

Admirable
Just to reiterate what was said in the second post ... If you're not gaming then there's no reason to upgrade your card...a 770 wont have any problem with running two 1440p displays for web browsing, watching videos, ect. A 770 has enough power to run a trio of 4k monitors if that's all you're doing.

the ONLY reason to buy a new, stronger card is to power video games.
