I don't have the budget to get a specific heat gun for bending the tubes but I do have a paint sripper heat gun which looks identical to what professionals use, so could I use this or would it be too hot ?

i believe the acrylic fittings are different from the standard tubing compression fittings

never tried acrylic but it may be they are like push fit fittings

as acrylic would be relatively fragile to use compression on-over tightening would break acrylic

yeah it would help if they all stuck to the same inner and outer diameter as well

acrylic looks tricky to get just right you may waste some tubing till you get the hang of it

i have been considering changing my tubing to chrome or nickel coated copper metal piping

think its easier to work with metal tubing than acrylic

Just don't heat the pipe tips. When you heat acrylic, it will change the diameter of the pipe, and depending on the actual material itself, this will cause it to either expand slightly or contract. If done on pipe ends, you'll either get pipe that is loose on the fitting, or so tight it gets to be a royal pain to get the fitting on.

Heat acrylic slowly and evenly, don't allow the heatgun to concentrate in any one area or you'll burn the pipe, turning it a permanent shade of brown, and over size any heating to prevent kinks. Heat before and after a bend, not just at the bend.

I bend EMT and PVC on a daily basis, and gotta say, the PVC is more forgiving and requires less actual skill, but more patience.
