Hi all,

I recently picked up a Palit GTX 650 2GB and a new PSU. Everything booted up fine initially, but after installing the latest Nvidia driver and rebooting, the machine just crashes and shuts down. Upon getting to the log in screen, the display goes black, the monitor goes to sleep, and then the machine shuts down. After uninstalling the driver by switching back to the onboard GPU, and reseating the GTX, it boots up fine on the card, but again, when installing the driver, the same thing happens.

I've read that a BIOS update may solve the problem, however I can only find a BIOS for the 1GB version of the card. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm absolutely stumped here.

Cheers!

What driver version you're using right now? Messing with BIOS is the last thing you want to do AND probably when you no longer have warranty for your card. Some vendor will void the warranty when there is changes done to the BIOS. Right now try using nvidia forceware 353.38 hotfix driver. Google it.

I've uninstalled the nvidia driver, however GPU-Z says I'm using 10.18.13.5330 forceware0.00 Win7 64.

Also, funnily enough, GPU-Z is reporting a core clock and memory clock speed of 0Ghz.

This hasn't worked. I saw a thread where someone suggested the 314.22 driver. That didn't work either. The machine just BSODs on startup screen and loops. Its fine when no Nvidia driver is installed, but as soon as a driver is installed, after reboot, it continually BSODs and shuts down. I'm absolutely stumped.
