My processor is AMD A10-7850K
My RAM is Corsair 2x4GB 2133
My Mobo is ASUS A88XM-PLUS (FM2+ ) and when i set ram to 2133 speed .. windows can't even launch - i get message'' Hardware config error''
When I set RAM to 1800 speed I get windows loaded, but then when i play games crush-close, or my windows shuts down.
When I set RAM to 1600 everything seems to work fine.
........................................................................................................................................................................
(When I use AMD R9 280x with this setup I get slightly different results).
when i set ram to 2133 speed .. windows can't even launch - i get message'' Hardware config error''
When I set RAM to 1800 speed , everything seems to be fine.

I have upgraded my BIOS yesterday, but all it did is made my windows corrupt and lost all drivers

Solution
What CPU cooler, and what PSU? Do you have the latest BIOS? You may need a bit of an OC on the APU to run 2133, but should be go into BIOS enable DOCP, select 2133, ensure DRAM voltage is to 1.65 or 1.7, then look for CPU/NB voltage, try that at 1.3

Agreed. You need to set both the speed and the timing. If you're configuring it manually you need to set both the speed and the timing to match the memory sticks you have. For example, the speed is in MHZ - in your case, 2133mhz. Then there are the timings which are the clock ticks that the computer has to wait for the memory to respond which can vary depending on the quality of the chips and are a set of numbers following it like 9-11-11 (or it could be higher, like 11-11-11).

So, in your bios set those to match what your sticks are rated at and see if that helps.

had a look thank you.

Don't think I can figure it all out, I mean if want to know the timing I need for 2133 Ram speed I have to load Windows first and run this CPU-Z , but I can't load windows with 2133 RAM speed so I can't run CPU-Z :(

A monkey could figure it out. Look at the SPD tab in CPU-Z, that is what your settings SHOULD BE, look at the Memory tab in CPU-Z. That is what your memory is ACTUALLY SET AT in your bios. Write both down. Restart computer and hit Delete key. This should bring up your bios settings. Poke around and look into your "overclocking" settings. Look for DRAM TIMINGS. Look at your piece of paper. See how they correspond with what they were actually set at in CPU-Z, change them to what you wrote down from the SPD tab. Viola, you are done. Hit F10 to save the settings and revoot.

Run it at setting that it will run, it will give you timings for all speeds.

To get the RAM running, you should be able to get into the bios. On the first page (in EZ Mode), there's an option in the middle of the page which has 'D.O.C.P.' - this is the bios equivalent to XMP. XMP is a mini-profile for the optimum fastest settings your RAM will support. This should be a screenshot:

http://www.xbitlabs.com/cms/include/image.php?src=/images/mainboards/asus-a88xm-plus-gigabyte-ga-f2a88xm-d3h/asus/bios_start_big.jpg&width=550&height=413&cache=1&quality=90&aspect=0&format=

You want to enable D.O.C.P. - this translates the XMP profile (which is intel specific) into something AMD motherboards understand.

I have checked timings finally.
When ram is set to 2133 timings are 11-11-11-27 as stated on actual RAM label windows won't load at all
When RAM is set t 1866 timings are 9-9-9-24 and windows loads.

I have seen someone on these forums suggesting that this issue doe to CPU limiting ram speed as it can't cope with it and were suggested increasing RAM vaultage by 0.06 in my case t is overclocking kind a .. as on my ram label it says 1.5 and i have pushed it too 1.560 .. this guy also sugessted to up vaultage for MC.... also by 0.06 , but I am not shure what MC is

Normally done in 0.05 volt increments. MC = memory controller.

Could not Manage anything :(
Some Screenshots of BIOS showing my 2133 ram to work in 1333 and other BIOS different settings screenshots

Now I often get Blue Screen and PC restarts ... Hardware Error LOL !!!
Guess it is all my not compatible ram (cmz8gx3m2a2133c11r
I also suspect my Processor to over heat a little do to this issue and be jumping up and down in performance LOL 20%=80%
and when playing Witcher Processor is at 94% LOL!!!!

Hi thanks for your help.
Yes I have updated BIOS 48 hours ago.
My PSU is Corsair RM750W and CPU cooler is Cooler Master Hyper 103 it is blowing quite hard at 2400 rpm
Will try doing what you suggested.

Some Suggested to run AMD Over Drive, but I can't run it after installing it.... trying running it crushes my windows.. and i get message about hardware error

I had 500W Cooler Master suplply and now after 7 months I have upgraded it last night.... to be honest I had power surges and my windows crushed few times while i were gaming with my old PSU

Try what I suggested an then we can work from there, with the crashes will prob want to run a system file check (from the command line as administrator, the command SFC /SCANNOW, and also a disk check, again at command prompt the command DSKCHK /f /r C: - the disk check is best to run overnight as it takes hours

Million times thank you.
Ok I have set RAM speed to 2133 and set 1.65V instead of 1.5 as if setting 1.7V it is marked red so i got scared , also I could not set CPU/NB voltage to 1.3 I think, but i have boosted it's stats a little as well as APU .. there was a choice between 100-130% and some other settings offering Normal,High,Extreme, where I went for 120 and High settings and now after 7 months I have finally managed to boot my Windows with higher that 1866,so nowmy RAM speed shows 2126 I think... sorry typing from Laptop and my Wife is on Desktop :D I mean RAM speed is still a touch sower that it should be, I mean I am not complaining just like to know if it is ok to have it this way.

Could you please give a little more details on how to run file check... like where to go and what to type.

After I updated BIOS my Windows activation got wiped and I had to use System recovery.... now PC loads slower on Desktop and Witchet3 which I had installed fails to run and fails to be uninstalled .I have deleted Witcher3 from Directory system 86 and tried reinstalling , but it stops on 5.5% with a message about some hardware trouble .
I have then downloaded Witcher3 from other source and tried installing it, but I get same trouble with 5.5%.

After I changed PSU my Ethernet adaptor did not work, but then after repairing Ethernet Drivers with Original Drivers suplied with MotherBoard it is now working, butg loading slow on desctop, same as everything else.

My mate saying that it is recommended to reinstall windows after new PSU installation.

Is there a point?

I knew that sending PM to Tradesman about your thread would get you sorted on the ram but PSU change should not require new windows install, only motherboard change.

For the file check and disk check want to go to start, all programs, accessories, then put the cursor on top of command prompt and right click, it will give you a menu, select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, a black box will open with a command prompt windoe type in SFC /SCANNOW and then hit enter....it will take it awhile to run - on diskcheck same procedure but the command is CHKDSK /f /r C:

Thank you very much.
I have done SFC/SCANNOW and now doing Diskchek, but command promp could not understand CHKDSK/f/rC: command so i went to;
Computer
right click Drive C
Properties
Check for errors
ticked both boxes
refreshed PC
now it is scanning

darn corrupted files turned up after i upgraded BIOS I think :(
i hope i am doing right thing

for future reference, it's CHKDSK (space) /f (space) /r (space) C: but sounds like you have it going, figured since you would already be at the command prompt doing it the way I listed (which is the same way it was run back on the old MS-DOS systems in 80's ;)

Thank you very much again.
Everything seem to be sorted now.
10 Restarts and 0 crushes, no crushes during gaming and Witcher3 managed to be installed also.
RAM speed 2126

Still have problem running AMD overdrive.... it opens Text Box on running '' if you run your hardware outside AMD original settings blablabla ''' and then Windows crushes after you pressed ok, so I can't really check CPU temperature.

I have used Speccy and HWINGO64 for Processor temperature measurements.. they show same temps and I think these measurements are fake.
CPU temps 85C on idle and 125C while gaming , but it seems to show correct GPU Temps as it does match with MSI afterburner 82-87C

Processor does get worm.... not sure about 85-125C but it does get worm and in gaming it runs nearly at 100% ...... hell firing MOBO and RAM
Would you recommend cooling Motherboard with extra heat sinks, 30% better airflow Processor cooler, or 200x200mm Monster 160 CFM airflow fan on the side of the case sucking air in?

Ideally would like to use 1 of these items . Just 1, rather than all of them.

Well I am using Hyper 103 now and bought Evo212 , but I want to plug this EVO212 in to my R9 280X to be honest :) as it gets to 87C-92C and really screams.

I have purchased 2 Case coolers to go in front of the case (Artic Cooler F12) 120mm

P.S. I am about to drill 100 halls in my Zalman Z1 Case , on the side and on the top-above processor.
