Afternoon,

I'm looking to build for the first time and after some research have developed the below configuration. However I am presuming that this would all work together. I'd appreciate comments suggesting alternate builds if you think you can do better for the money, or flag up where I might encounter problems.

CPU - Intel Pentium G3258 (£47.90)
Motherboard - Gigabyte B85M-D2V (£41.25)
Graphics Card - MSI Radeon R9 380X 4 GB (£179.98)
PSU - CX430 Corsair 430w builder series (£36.00)
Hard Drive - Western Digital 500GB Caviar Blue (£35.99)
Case - ??? (as cheap as will be suitable)
Memory - Crucial 4GB DDR3 1,333MHz (£26.99)
Current Total Cost (without case) - £368.11

Many thanks.

A better PSU and double the RAM, it is a very good gaming rig for 400 pounds.

Thanks for the advice.

I know it's only an additional £10, so hardly going to break the bank, but is the additional wattage necessary? The same applies with the hard drive, did you suggest that as it's only an additional £5? I don't really need all the space.

Very happy with the advice for motherboard and memory though, cheers.

The hard drive has double the storage for £5 more, so it's really worth it. You may not need now but later you may feel the need.
As for the PSU, it's the best bang for the buck, you need that adittional wattage for overclocking and the GPU needs some breathing room, specially since it's a r9 series.

Which sites are you purchasing off of?

Various I'm afraid, mostly from a quick google and taking the first price I saw. Once I've got the list finalised then I will look around for the best prices. I guess it's also worth noting that I will be buying the parts within the next week or so.

In addition, could I ask what wireless network card you would recommend using with this setup?

Edit: I have Virgin Broadband at 50mbps but it's not really possible to run cables from the router to the pc.
