so guys, my question is my mobo asus m5a78l le says it have this specs in pci-e:
- 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16
- 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
- 3 x PCI
can i use a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming WindForce 3X ? since it have pci 3 i think...?
btw im going to upgrade it with a AMD FX-8350 4.0/4.2GHz AM3+ too, is it the best cpu i could put in that mobo? what about the gpu ? is it the best for this mobo? will they fit well together reaching the high levels between them?

Solution

Yes, the GTX 970 needs the x16 slot, which the motherboard has. The FX-8350 is a good choice. The 8370 is the "best" CPU that is compatible with the motherboard, but I would just get the 8350 as it is essentially the same processor with a lower clock speed. You shouldn't get any bottlenecks...

The Gigabyte G1 Gaming has a very good cooler, only thing is it's a rather long card so make sure it can fit in your case. I'd get the Gigabyte or the ASUS, you really can't go wrong with either so just get the one's that's cheaper (or the one that fits the theme of your build).

i dont really go for the aspect actually i prefer a good quality thing but when you talk about long is in length or in width? im worried that the graphic doors like monitors and everything else dont fit =S

well i was thinking... cant i just go and see the dimensions of the gt 630 and look for the dimensions of the gtx 970?

I can't seem to find any info regarding the max GPU length it supports, but it does say the case is 433mm long (G1 Gaming 970 is 312mm. I think it should fit, but I'd get the ASUS Strix one just to be safe.
