I'm using Intel i3 540 @ 3.07 ghz and its 1 generation motherboard ;( .im thinking for upgrading my processor & motherboard after couple of months to i7 4/5th generation. Will I have any problem using same old ram sticks (ddr3 1333hz)and GPU (asus gtx 960)?

newer mb will run any ram that ddr3 if it 1.35-1.65 in voltage. all you going to see is slightly slower test spec when you do burn in as most pc run 1600 ram (800) speed) your ram is 633. so in testing some of the numbers will be slightly slower. before you do break down your pc if the ram a few years old...run memtest on it make sure there no bad bits on it. if there is see if the ram under warranty and rma it. newer rigs will find bad or weak parts by blue screaning or when you try and install windows...the files become damaged on the copy from the disk or usb stick to the hard drive.
