Scaning and repairing drive c STUCK

Hello today i tryed to run chdsk.exe/f/r on the cmd and it told me that widows are being used and by another app and if i wanted to make the chdsk.exe/f/r start when i restart my pc. I restarted my pc and it said "Scanning and repairing drive c 10% completed" and my hdd usage is on 100% cause i see the led. I tryed rebooting and it told me to press a button within 1SECOND to skip the scan and repair... But that doesnt work several times and it starts again. It cant be any hdd fail cause it is 1 month old.... Any Solution? It has been running on 10% for about 1-2 hours and i have heard that other people leave it first for 24 hours then they try something else but i dont want to harm my hdd so much by leaving it for 1 day being used at 100%!!

It will take much longer than 1-2 hours. Perfectly normal. I have run it many times on many machines and generally it will get stuck for a few hours at 3-4 different spots.

Yeah but it harms your hdd too much if it runs for too long. Which was the smallest % i which it had stuck in your pc?

No, what are you talking about? It doesn't harm anything. It FIXES your HDD.

All the times I run it it get s stuck at 7% or 10% for a few hours.

I believe it harms the HDD because it has too high usage.

Nope, it doesn't harm anything. Your HDD is at 100% usage all the time in normal use. It is not doing anything that isn't perfectly normal for a HDD to do.

I think he is asking if repeatedly performing chkdsk is bad for long term health?
No it wouldn't. I believe you are talking about defragmenting. Do it too much, and the health of a HDD can deteriorate over time and is not to be used on an SSD.

I never do it unless I know there is a HDD issue like a dead sector.

It can take upwards of 12 hours. I did a laptop that took 2 days once but I have also done a friend's PC that only took like 9 hours.

Nope. Never get worried. Nothing bad can happen. Just let it run. It will either pass or fail. It won;t just stop in the middle and freeze. If it says it is at a %, then it is working and leave it alone.
