What sort of things/games do you use it for and what frames/definition do you want to play at as well. That will help us choose some component upgrades that will suit you.

Although I might advise adding a SSD, at least to put your OS on as the price of them now is doesnt make sense not to unless youre on a really tight budget

I use music producing/beatmaking
I also have some Steam games I want to play Fallout 4 when it's released on at least high settings and 40-50 FPS

But for now I'm looking at getting Arma 3 for high settings and 50-60 FPS in a new upgrade which is why I came to you guys. :)

If you're wanting to play Fallout 4 in high you're going to need to do a serious rebuild of your PC. First off you'll probably want to go for a FX6300 CPU at least.
On the GPU front you'll need something far more powerful than what you currently have. What sort of budget have you got to spend? And what are the specs of your Power Supply Unit?

I can't really recommend you a gpu until I know what budget you have but if I was in your position I would aim to get something like a HD7790 or HD7970 second hand as they're quite cheap good cards but others might recommend some others if they do end up reading this thread :). Though you will probably be in need for a new power supply also.

Basically you'll want:
New CPU - FX6300
New GPU of some sort that is powerful
New Power Supply (OF A GOOD BRAND)
And maybe in the future a SSD for faster storage.

If you're on a budget you should be able to save your self some money by buying second hand

Okay thanks! I'm looking at the 6300's should I get a 6350 or would a normal 6300 be fine? My cousin told me an 8350 would be way better because it has more threads, is that true or subjective?

if you can afford the 8350 go for it as that's what I have it has 8 threads at 4ghz stock speed. The 6350 is a good chip too though as it's probably the best bang for buck, with six cores and and i believe 3.8ghz out of the box its a better value buy in terms of price to performance. But in terms of raw power the 8350 is a better chip.

Have you worked out a budget yet or have any ideas on what GPU you think you'll go for yet?

You're already kind of at the limit with your current motherboard mate.
The 6300 is a slight upgrade because of the extra threads but your 4300 actually has a higher base clock as it stands & your board Ia no good for any kind of overclocking.

A CPU upgrade isn't going to give you the $100 worth of performance extra you'll pay for it.

The 4300 isn't a bad CPU - it'll game for a couple more years yet easily.spend your money on a new PSU & a new GPU - that's where you'll get your big performance boost for your money.

Well I think the FX 4300 is going to be a major hamper to play Fallout 4 won't it? Or should I overclock it? If my motherboard can handle the FX-6300 why shouldn't I get it if it'll be better than the 4300? Especially if it comes to new games coming on the market.

^ the 4300 isn't going to be a major hamper.

Look at it this way spending money on a 6300 with a 750ti isn't going to give great performance - the 750ti is weak mate for newer titles.

Your current 4300 paired with a gtx 960 or a r9 380 will give far better gaming performance.

I love the 6300, to me its the best value CPU on the market - when paired with a good motherboard & cooler & over clocked its a blazing little gaming CPU.

But for you on a limited budget, spending your money on a good mid range GPU & a decent PSU is the most sensible option at the moment IMO.

Alright thanks for the help! I just wasn't sure if a 4300 will be able to handle Fallout 4 when it comes out or not, but I think this is a really good answer, thanks for the help!

Bear in mind that you will never hit 60fps on arms 3 with any and CPU unless heavily heavily over clocked - even i5/i7's won't touch 60fps unless they're pushed past 4ghz.

With a 380 you'll be looking at around mid 40s max on high settings - this is down to the game engine not your hardware.

I know how CPU intensive Arma 3 is but Fallout 4 may be a lot different.

Id 100% expect fallout to be as well optimised as the rest of the series mate - Bethesda are a good bunch IMO.
Even the skyrim games & fallout 3 which were heavily single thread dependant easily hit 60fps on an fx chip.

I would honestly look at a 4gb 380 in preparation for fallout 4 - you'll have no problem with hi-res texture packs then which while not compulsory will be available IMO.
