Dell Optiplex 755 (can i put 4gb in one channel).

So, i have a dell optiplex 755 with 8GB of DDR2 ram. there all 2GB sticks per channel so theres 4 channels. Can i put in 4GB of DDR2 ram in one channel?

Yes. It will just operate in single channel mode. If the sticks did not come in a kit they may not function properly but the only thing you can do is try them it will not damage the system.

You actually have dual channels. It's 2 sticks per channel which equals 4 slots. Also it should support flex so would not be all in single channel.

You can try it. There is no reason it will work. And little reason that it wont.

It states 8gb max because 4gb sticks weren't out yet and they don't update the page. Looking on the dell forum, I see people are upgrading to 16 with success.
