I have Windows 8.1, IE 11, and BitDefender Antivirus 2015 running. About a week ago, I stopped being able to use copy and paste within IE. Ive tried the things mentioned that I could find (sfc /scannow, dism) and all to no avail. It seems I can copy from IE and paste into SOME other apps, and I can copy and paste from other apps into IE, but I cant go IE to IE, and I ned that functionality. Ideas?

Could you try resetting Internet Explorer:
Internet Options > Advanced Options > Reset

Let me know if this helps at all.

I know you've already said that you've tried this but could you follow these steps:
1. Press "Windows + R" at the same time
2. Enter "control wuaucpl.cpl" (without speech marks) followed by enter
3. Select "Scan for Updates"
4. Install all updates including optional ones

5. Restart your PC into the normal desktop

6. Restart your PC into Safe Mode

7. Press "Windows + X" at the same time
8. Select “Command Prompt (Admin)
11. Enter "sfc /scannow" (without the speech marks) into Command Prompt followed by enter
12. Let the scan complete

Let me know how this goes.

Is it possibly something we can fix in the registry? The "Paste" option is greyed out, but I believe the items copied are still on the clipboard. CTL-V doesn't work, either. I can drag and drop from the same web page, but I need to be able to switch between different tabs in IE and paste info, so drag and drop isn't a viable option... this is getting frustrating

Could you try this:
1. Open 'Tools-->Internet Options'.
2. Choose a zone and click the "Custom level..." button.
3. Scroll down to 'Miscellaneous-->Drag and drop or copy and paste files".
4. Select "Enable".
5. OK, Apply, OK.

It was enabled when I got in there. Tried disabling and re-enabling it, no success. Also tried enabling "Drag and drop across domains" and the option below it (cant remember what it was now... no success there either
