Hello all. Been having some issues getting my PC to post. Was working fine a couple days ago. All of the system fans turn on and the GPU fan runs at max speed. No beeps, but I am running optical audio and have never heard any codes even when it ran fine. All of the lights on the mb are on too.

I have tried resetting the CMOS, 1 stick of RAM in each slot with different sticks, and moving gpu to different slots. Computer is about 5 years old.

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
XFX HD-587X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5870
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
Intel Core i7-980X Extreme
Rosewill Xtreme Series RX950-D-B 950W
WD 500gb HDD

Any help is extremely appreciated.

Hello harryfishrules, thank you for the comment.

I ran through all of the steps with no change. I also did manage to find my case speaker and install it.
I have also moved my computer to a differnet location and removed the power supply from the case so its next to it with everything still plugged in and in doing so I'm now getting some different results.

One short beep, no display, fans are all normal even GPU fan, lights on mb go on then off like normal. Now if I move the main power cable to the mb a little bit it causes the computer no not do anything, but when I move it again it will start all the fans and lights but no display. Also did the power supply with a paper clip and it started a fan alright.

One beep is normally normal as it generally means that the processor got responses from all of the hardware. Could you try these steps:

1. Try reseating the RAM modules (pulling them out and putting them back in again)
2. Try switching the RAM modules around or/and using different slots
3. Try only using one RAM module
4. Try using the other RAM module
5. Try resetting the CMOS - unplug the PSU for 5 minutes, move the Jumper for 5+ seconds and back again, plug the PSU (power supply) back in and try to boot to the BIOS. If this does boot into the BIOS, press (F5) 'Load Optimized Defaults' and Save (F10) Yes and boot again. There's a video on this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdHH9KrceR0

Let me know if this helps.
