I bought a
Sentey® Power Supply 1000w 80 Plus Bronze Modular
and it comes with CPU 4+4 pin 12volt and cpu 8 pin 12volt cables

Why did they put the 8pin one if 4+4 pin is all you need? are they different some how?

Solution
They are the same, though one is split in case you are using it with an older motherboard that only has a 4 pin ATX 12V connector.

For newer systems, both are needed in the following scenarios:

Extreme overclocking (with mobo support)
Dual CPU boards

Many Dual CPU workstation motherboards (you would be plugging Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron CPU's into these boards) need a pair of these power lines to supply enough power to each CPU.
