So I recently built my pc but I have been having several problems. Anytime I play a game at random moments the game will crash, sometimes even causing a BSOD. After a bit of research I searched through the minidumps to try and figure out what was causing the problem but every time it was a different .sys file (sometimes it didn't show any file). After no luck in fixing these problems I decided to format everything and completely reinstall windows 7. I successfully installed windows and updated all my drivers and windows updates. I was in the middle of a CS:GO game and the game crashed again. Getting mad at these crashes I decided to verify the integrity of the game but steam froze. I tried opening task manager but it said the path to it doesn't exist(nor the application itself). I reset my pc and then the boot manager didn't work so I had to format my ssd again and reinstall windows. I have ran my pc with both ram sticks separately to see if something was wrong but it booted fine. I also ran a memtest and had no errors. If you have any clue on as to what may be causing this issue and how to fix it I would greatly appreciate it. My parts are
Graphics Card: GTX GeForce 960 2GB
Motherboard: MSI Z97s SLI Krait Edition
Processor: i5-4690k LGA1150
Memory: Corsair Force LS 120GB SSD
Memory: Corsair XMS3 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz ram sticks
Memory: Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
OS: Windows 7

How can I run the firmware update? Every time I run the update I get an error saying "Error General disk error. Download and use the USB boot key or ISO CD image version of this utility." I downloaded the .exe version but if I get the ISO version I don't have a cd to burn it on. But if I get that, would using a software like daemon tools to emulate a disk drive work if I mount the ISO on there?

You could try daemontools, but it's a known cause of crashing windows. I wouldnt use it myself

It would have to boot from that as well. I dont think you can use the iso from within windows

Daemontools may also be the cause of your crashes. If your system crashed when it was installed

It wouldn't work. It was like it the iso was for a different hard drive. I looked around for an update, both the website for seagate(i plugged in my serial code to check for an update) and windows device manager said that the hard drive was up to date. I have a picture of the error I got when trying to update it. http://1drv.ms/1LNfwYy
Now I leave for vacation tomorrow so I won't be able to keep trying new methods but If you can think of something else or know someone else that may be able to help please post it here and when I get back I will try them all out and let you/y'all know if it worked.

Windowsupdate wont find it its firmware not a driver. Windowsupdate doesnt find drivers for everything

Is the hdd connected to a sata port? Or are you using some kind of PCI card with sata connections on it?

It looks like it can find the right model, and the FW thats on it.

But for some reason reason it cant update the firmware
