AMD will feature hyperthreading in their upcoming "Zen" CPU next year (I believe), which is rumored to have a total of 16 cores and 32 threads. Hot damn.

intel already has an 18 core 36 thread CPU, so its not that new for a company to have an insanity "over 16 cores" cpu.
but you could also put two or four of those CPUs together in a single motherboard, so YEAH. a 72 core 144 thread MONSTER with 180MB of L3 cache. WOW.
