GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 SC
CPU: i7-4790k
Mobo: Asus Z97 Sabertooth Mark 1
RAM: 4x4GB
PSU: CoolerMaster 500w
OS: Windows 7
I purchased the majority of my computer back in March, the only thing I used from my previous build is the case and the power supply. I have a dual monitor display and run WoW for hours on Ultra settings with no problems until the last week. It started to randomly crash after a couple hours or so and both monitors will go black, the first that I use for browsing or random tasks will recover with a message that says "Nvidia Kernal Mode Driver (some number) has crashed and stopped responding." The second monitor that has WoW going will remain black and the computer very slow for a minute or two until it recovers. When I run the game with the ultra settings EVGA Precision X and Open Hardware Monitor both report around ~49-52 degrees which makes it hard for me to believe it's overheating. When it does crash I'm usually not doing anything out of the ordinary that would be very taxing.
I have tried updating the drivers but it says they are up to date and the problem is still persisting. I tried searching for similar issues and how they were fixed but I got various answers as to how others solved their problem and many of them seemed like they wouldn't apply. I did order a new PSU since it was one of the last things I needed to upgrade however I am not even sure this is the cause of the issue. I was hoping I may have provided enough information that someone could maybe give some advice as to where to start to fix the problem.
