Can I upgrade my 4x4 GB RAM to 2x4+ 2x8 GB?

I have recently become more interested in video editing and have been looking to upgrade my RAM size. I was looking into getting these RAM soon: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9746002&CatId=11478

Would my motherboard be capable of this sort of upgrade? And yes, I currently have Windows 7 Home Premium but I am upgrading to Windows 7 Professional in a few days.

First yes your mobo can handle up to 4x8GB = 32GB total, as far as mixing the 4GB sets with 8GB sets it's a crapshoot, they might play they might not, best bet is to get a full set of the amount you want/need (here 32GB as there aren't any 24GB sets) and get it in a single set, there no guarantee of mixing 2 2x8GB sets either, even of the same exact model, many will buy a pair of 2x8GB sets instead of a 4x8GB set to save a few bucks, and then end up paying return postage, restocking fees etc. The manufacturers only guarantee by the packaged set

If you already have 4x4 more RAM will not help unless you are bumping 16gb limit often. And there is no for sure way of knowing if it will work. The ram you linked looks like it would not be a good idea. Even if you are doing editing 16gb is enough. Both RAM sticks are low end and not worth adding. If you check out my rig in my sig I have a editing rig that I professionally do work with and it is enough RAM.
