Bad pick of a mobo. Changed the RAM to better quality stuff for cheaper. The rest of your build is decent. You should not change the PSU unless you go for a GS or something. No need for a extra cooler with this CPU unless you want it.

I have made some changes.

You have picked way overpriced motherboard.

This AsRock g97 motherboard will perfectly fit your needs.

2x4gb memory kit for dual channel (up to 15% performance boost compare to 1x8gb memory stick).

SSD - will improve by a lot your overall general use experience (surfing, loading and etc).

Slightly cheaper, but great deal Corsair 300r case.

Much better tier 2 PSU, instead of tier 3 psu. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Same budget.

H97 mobo is an option since you have a non overclocking intel CPU.

I didnt include a wifi stick like you did, but ethernet is just so much better. whatever it takes, try to get an ethernet cable to your PC. also, i've included a CPU with a motherboard and a cooler that is geared towards overclocking. if you do not what to dable in the work of overclocking, you can just take the cooler out, downgrade the CPU to a 4690 non k (or upgrade to a xeon e3 1231 v3) and get a cheaper h97 motherboard.

Why exactly does he need a Z board for a non K processor?

I was about to ask the same question, but when I think about it know, it REALLY doesnt make sense because skylake is right around the corner, and upgrading the CPU will probably need a new motherboard to go with it (which he doesnt really need a beter CPU because all of the haswell i5's are great CPU's).

Hi mZn, Some changes to improve your build-

-4590 is overpriced compared to 4460
-Asus Z87 board won't work with newer cpu without bios update and not needed with locked cpu.
-Better memory and dual channel (2x4) instead of (1x8)
-MSI GTX 970 is fast, smooth and quiet.
-Better PSU. The 600B is not so great.

here is what i would get for that budget.

get 2 sticks of ram rather than 1

the 1231 v3 is a much better CPU

the motherboard you had was a bit overkill

this RAM is faster

this PSU is better.

ok im probably going to go with your build. How much do you think this will run CS:GO at. That is the game I will play the most

At least pick another PSU. It will run CS GO 200+ fps.

just remember that you cant overclock here (compared to my suggestion), and you are "wasting money" on a case, compared to mine.

I run CSGO on almost max at 100 FPS on a FX 6300 and HD 7790 (1 GB GDDR5), so you should be able to run it at double, or more.

Who cares about overclocking? Op chose locked CPU to begin with and I used the case he picked out, but thanks.

I PMed you a message. Please check it

I like and want this build, but slower ram with better timings will give better performance in general,Excellent price on the ram though.
