Boot up black screen with white flashing line top left corner

I just installed a new power supply and I unplugged my hard drives while removing the old one and I don't think i needed to but now when i start my computer i get the white flashing line I've heard that if i use my windows 7 installation cd or something it will fix it but I no longer have it and I can't really buy a new one because i just spent the money on the power supply so please give me another solution if there is one (my motherboard is Gateway DX4860)

So is a hdd connected now?? It wont boot with nothing

If it can post go into the BIOS and make sure the hdd with windows on it is the bootdisk

It's probably trying to boot from the hdd thats blank or not bootable

Try unplugging all drives except the primary drive with your operating system on it. Then if it boots edit the Bios to correct the boot order of your drives.

hard drive - hdd, make sure the bootable one is the bootdisk in the BIOS

I feel so stupid last time i tried to change which harddrive my computer booted with i forgot to save the setting xD thanks though

With only the hard drive with the operating system (probably the C: drive) installed, it forces the computer to boot from that drive. Then afterwards you can plug the other drives back in after you define the drive as your boot drive in the BIOS.
