I have an old MSI 760gm-p34fx and I'd love to upgrade to the new MSI Krait edition motherboard. I was just curious about whether or whether not I'd need to buy a new Windows 7. I have an OEM from an old IBP I've been upgrading and now the motherboard is all i need! I would love some info on this, I wouldn't mind having to use linux its just I'd much rather keep my OS for the upcoming windows 10 :/

Legally, yes. In reality... maybe, maybe not. Install the OS with the new board. Win 7 should still offer you the 30 day trial before it goes into nag mode, unless it catches it immediately. In which case, you'll probably only have 3 days grace period. Eventually you'll have to activate. There's a 50/50 chance activation will pass. If not, you'll have to jump thru some hoops on the automated MS activation phone line to swear you only have it installed on one machine. Another 50/50 chance of passing. At worse, you'll be directed to a MS rep to explain the situation. They usually assign you a new license if you have a reason you moved it to a "new machine". Like your old board having died...
