where to download windows 8.1 iso for new build

I am on ubuntu and want to create a flash drive for installing windows 8.1 pro. I have a product key and need to get the iso to do so. Please advise.

Sorry. I couldn't tell you. I've never actually tried to download Windows 8 from that site. Just the first option when you Google "Windows 8 ISO".

I couldn't get it to work on ubuntu, so switched over to win 7. When trying to download and run the exe it says "an error was encountered. No application is associated with the specified file for this operation" what is going on here?

Worked for me on Windows 7. I downloaded the exe, installed it and then selected to download ISO file to computer. Now it is downloading. Thank you!
