Can "too much" RAM latency cause input lag in games?

I recently upgraded from:

Mobo: Asus P5Q Deluxe
GPU: GTX 760 2GB
CPU: Q9550 2.83GHz
RAM: 8GB 1333Mhz - CL5

to:

Mobo: Asus Z97-A
GPU: GTX 970 4GB
CPU: i7 4790K 4GHz
RAM: 16GB 2400Mhz - CL11

...and in some games, WoW in particular, I'm sensing some slight input lag that I haven't had before. It's not a lot, but still annoying enough that I notice it.

I recently read somewhere that a higher RAM latency could be the cause of input lag in WoW, and that I should underclock it to 1866/1600 and get a lower CL number. `Can this be the cause?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! :)

Input lag? Most likely related to vsync, not RAM. Try disabling it ingame if texture tearing does not bother you. The worst situation in terms of input lag is if you have both vsync and triple buffering enabled. Some games have more lag, some less, but basically it comes down to vsync.

I have turned V-Sync off, as I always do. It causes way too much input lag for me. I believe it may be related to Windows 8.1's way of handling mouse input, though I have no clue how to solve it. For reference, I'm using a Logitech MX518 gaming mouse.
