Hi all,
So I am a university student with an interest in PC gaming. I am looking for a PC that can carry out basic tasks such as using microsoft office, email etc etc as well as a PC that can handle games well (I like playing shooting games, batman games and racing games). I've been doing a lot of reading but the world of PCs is so huge.
So you can build your own PC or buy one, which one would you guys recommend?
If you guys think I should buy one rather than build one, do you have any recommendations?
My budget is 500 quid

Cheers!

I would tell you to do exactly what I did when i was your age (last year of university). Trawl gumtree for used pc's in your area and pick one with decent specs and just leave a little cash on the side to upgrade to an SSD. People looking to move or upgrade can be good for a steal or two.

I'm not sure how the hardware scene is looking right now but i'd imagine a pc with an i5 3570K, or overclocked Intel anniversary cpu, 8gb of ram and say an hd 7870 up can be had for your price range used and would offer you good performance for gaming albeit not at ultra settings. Throw in 70 quid for an ssd and youre right as rain!

Good luck with the hunting,
