how to connect a USB2.0 printer to USB3.0 port? I have Fuji Xerox DP C1110B printer that is no longer working after I upgraded

I have the same exact problem on a Dell machine after upgrading to Windows 8.1 Docuprint p215b is not working. The machine complains that its a USB 2.0 device and will not work correctly on USB 3.0 port. The same computer could earlier print to this printer when it was running Windows 7.
