Hi thank you for taking the time to read my post. For the past few months I have been experimenting with overclocking my GPU. I did overclock using 2 different GPU but keeping it similar as well. My first one EVGA 970 ftw 2.0, and my second card is EVGA 970 SSC 2.0+. My overclocking tool is MSI 353.30. My experience and crashes are very similar on both cards.

My main question would be how to properly stress test my graphic card, or how to set up overclock correctly. What I mainly do is i go on MSI, raise core clock and memory clock while stress testing (following guide). I also increase my power limit to 110%. I have raised both card to +100mhz and +400 Mem, and had no problem running Heaven benchmark for 3 hours.

Though i pass stress test, in game is different. I mainly get Kernel mode driver crash while playing some game (NBA 2k15). Another problem I encounter is screen turn different color for about 5 seconds but the sound is still active (csgo). I have never encounter any crashes when GPU is not overclock.

Any comment is very appreciated, thank you for your time!

Have you tried running 3DMark Firestrike?

Also, what resolution are your stress-testing in and what resolution are you gaming in? Many free benchmarks only test in 1080p, if you are gaming in higher resolutions that may be why you are not getting the same results.

Furthermore, are your stress-tests in DX11 or DX12 and what DX/OpenGL are your games running?

No i have never used 3d mark firestrike. I am gaming in 1080p 144hz. Stress test is 1080p as well. Ungine Heaven Ultra, extreme, 8x anti aliasing. I am using DX 11.
