Good Headset/Sound Card?

I'm looking to buy a new headset and finally upgrade from my old Turtle Beach x11's...

Can anyone suggest a decent headset for around £50?

At the moment I'm looking at an Ozone Rage 7HX or a Logitech G430. With my current setup, my mic creates a very annoying static when idle and I'm using my on-board sound. I'm not sure whether it's the mic or the on-board sound though so should I buy a cheapish sound card aswell?
I just want a good headset that doesn't give this crappy, annoying static.

Thanks :)

Hello judson97!

I'll just comment on the soundcard thing.

In general, unless your doing some audio recording or have some intense home theater system you are playing on, you won't get much of a benefit. That being said, I've heard really good things about using Sound Blaster sound cards to get a larger range of audio from cheaper headphones. I've never tried it personally, but it's definitely something worth looking into.

Oh, thank you! :)

I wasn't sure about the importance of sound cards so that does help... I'm still a little lost on headsets though... I just want one which isn't going to give off static when idle but I've read that this only happens if the headset uses a USB port :/
