When I unbowed my gtx 970 from gigabyte I saw its drivers disk and tossed it aside because it was probably outdated but now that I am reading what is says on the disk I am reconsidering, it says "graphics accelerating drivers" and comes with oc guru ,Google utilities, GeForce experience, direct X 9 runtime libraries and windows 8 display drivers. Is it worth it to install from disk and update later or should I get it directly from nvidia.com? Also is oc guru worth it? It says that it overclock better with a gigabyte card but that could just be for advertising since it normally should not matter how u boost the clock speed.

Solution
It is almost always better to get drivers from Nvidia. Some custom hardware uses special drivers, but this is not the case.

Other utilities should also be on the gigabyte website with the latest versions.
