viewing HP laptop on my New Vizio smart U hd tv. 2015, how to connect the two

I have a new U HD. Vizio tv that i cant seem to figure out how to connect to the internet. I hVW WIFI and im able to get to netflix but tere is no place to get on the web. I also am not seeing how to connect my Laptop or pad to the tv as well. PLease in need of help if any one knows who to connect.

If you can get on Netflix and watch movies on the TV then you are connected to internet.
Just because a TV has a internet connection does not mean it has a web browser to surf the internet.

As far as connecting your laptop, the common way to do that is with an HDMI cable. Now nowhere did you mention which laptop so we have no idea if it has an HDMI output port on it.
