So I recently bought the Cooler Master Hyper T2 and realized that it's not for overclocking or intense CPU usage. I am going to return it tomorrow and get a new cooler and I was wondering what the best one I could get for a BitFenix Prodigy case with an 1150 socket? I am looking to overclock my i5-4690k to 4-4.2GHz or so. Thank you for any recommedations!

Also, I'm buying it from a store near me (MicroCenter.com) so if you could find one on there that would be even better. But like I said, it's not that big of a deal if you can't. I can always return it for cash and buy something from NewEgg or somewhere else.

P.S. I would prefer it be under $45, but it's not that much of a problem if it's not :)

Thanks for your reply!

I was looking at some other posts about this topic and saw that cooler come up a lot for mini-ITX builds. Do you know what kind of temps it would give if I put it through prime95?

That would depend on how much of a voltage bump you would have to give the processor to get the overclock stable but it will be fine. That's a very good cooler for the price.

If you want a low profile CPU cooler, I recommend the BeQuiet! Shadow rock LP, goes for around £30 and is guaranteed not to cause any size issues, for reference this cooler achieved around 73 degrees Celsius whilst being tested on Prime95, cooling the Pentium G3258@4.2Ghz.
However if you wish to overclock any higher than 4.2Ghz I would recommend the Dark rock pro 3, one of the best air coolers out there, it can be installed within the Prodigy but your ram defiently needs
to be low-profile and the HDD cage needs to be uninstalled.

You do see he needs to buy from micro center in the US right? Also that case fits a 175MM CPU cooler so their no clearance issues unless he bought the memory with freakishly tall heat sinks in which case he can move the fan to the other side pulling air through.

I think I am going to go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO as I have seen many great reviews of it. Thanks!
