Hello all,

I am putting together a new rig and my main question right now is:

Is it worth spending a little extra $$ on the CPU and Mobo/DDR4 RAM? I am getting a GTX 980TI, and money is not really an object, I am just thinking long term and want this build to last years.(But I want to be able to max out games for the next few years, I also have a 144hz monitor I want to utilize to the fullest)

I am thinking of getting the following CPU, but I would need to make sure I get a mobo that supports the socket, and it seems they are a bit higher in price and also require DDR4 RAM.

Worth it? Or is that completely overkill for gaming purposes, and should go with the 2nd one? All thoughts are appreciated. Also keep in mind I have a 850 Watt PSU. Thanks all!

Solution
It is not good quality at all. The PSU is the single most important part of the PC. NEVER cheap out on it. Poor units fry PCs all the time.

Yes 850w is plenty, but quality is WAY more important than wattage.

I see, I have owned this PSU for about 2 years, I just figured I could swap it over, but if you really think I should grab a different one, can you give me a few you recommend? Thanks!
