Would I see a increase in performance or would it just not really do anything?? If so whats the best way todo it?? Ive looked at a few overclocking programs and they don't really have a ratio option.

Hello,

What is your motherboard? Fortunately, you have an Ivy Bridge CPU. If it was Haswell, since you don't have an unlocked CPU, it would of been more or less not possible to achieve a worth while overclock. With Ivy Bridge you have a limited amount of overclock you can do, which I would think is worth while. Probably rather easy to do also.

What CPU cooler do you have? Basically any decent after market cooler will do. The Intel cooler wouldn't be able to get much.

That isn't true. The non-K CPUs and the K CPUs are exactly the same, just the non-K has an unlocked multiplayer, the other doesn't. The non-K can increase the turbo multiplier by 4 though. Voltage doesn't go up with this, and heat doesn't increase a great deal either. Voltage is manually adjustable just like the unlocked CPU. 400 MHz is a decent little overclock, and he likely won't need to increase voltage at all. Heat shouldn't rise much either.
