No performance gains with 2nd GPU. What do I need to upgrade?

Greetings

I own a Asus P8Z68-V PRO Motherboard with the following Hardware:

CPU: Intel i5-3570K 3.4 GHz (not 100% sure about that but it's an i5-****K with 3.4 GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB
RAM: 16GB RAM
Power Supply: 800 Watt

So I decided to plug in a 2nd GPU. It's the same as i allready own.

However, when I tested it with 3D Mark, my PC hardly gained any performance.

The 2nd graphics card is properly installed and crossfire is activated.

So here's my question: which part of my computer needs to be improved in order to gain more Performance out of the Card?

Solution
Nothing, your pc is powerfull enought to support any sli/crossfire configuration, something is wrong with your crossfire settings, check in catalyst center if 3dmark is crossfire activated.

It is another R9 290. The PC recognizes the card and Catalyst Control Center automatically activated Crossfire (no external bridge needed)

I would need to check about the psu. I'm not at home right now.
Once I get home I will provide a full report of all my PC stats.

PSU: Corsair HX850
Screen: Philips Moda 248C3LHSB (does it actually matter?)
do I need it?: Well I noticed lack in performance so another GPU was kind of my first thought.
Does overclocking help?: not much of a difference.

It seems as if in 3D Mark the performance does not improve at all, yet in games i do feel a difference. This is strange since 3D Mark does have tests specifically designed for multi-GPU systems. Also, when playing games while I do feel like it improved, I don't think I got all of the power.

All drivers are up to date. GPU Tweak is showing activity on my 2nd card. But i can't seem to figure out what else could be wrong.

Yeah, for SLI you need at least a 120Hz monitor, 144Hz would be better. 60Hz is a waste of time for one good GPU or 2 GPU's.

I im mainly looking for more ingame Performance. Since i noticed that my current Setup with only 1 card starts to struggle with the higher Settings of new titles. Therefore I bought a 2nd card, hoping I could improve it. Sure, a better Monitor will make a difference, but only once I achieve decent Performance ingame, right?

Okay I've got some updates here.

I kinda got it to work (I guess) but performance is still kinda meh..

3D Mark with single Card: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7702602?
with crossfire: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7702804?
and finally, crossfire and CPU overclocked to 4.2GHz: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7703337?

I also tested The Witcher 3 which runs at about 30-35ish FPS on ultra graphics.

Is this really the most I can get? I've heard of people scoring 20k points on 3D Mark with similar setups.

That seems fine, I don't understant the problem. Your 3D Mark score has gone up, your fps has gone up. If you wanted better performance you should have gone with Nvidia!
