I want to build a gaming + 3D rendering PC in an effective budget. Budget is $1000-$1400. That is 70000-80000/- INR

Games I want to play :

Far Cary 4, Crysis 3, Battlefield 4,Assasin's Creed series, GTA series etc

Softwares I want to run :

Cinema 4D,3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Rhino, Solidworks, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop etc

My plan of specifications :
- Intel core i5 4440
- Asus nvidia Strix GTX 970 4 GB ddr5
- Asus Z97-PRO GAMER LGA1150 4th Generation MotherBoard
- Cooler Master K380
- Corsair 650n watt
- Adata 8 Gb ddr3 ram
- WD hd 1 tb

Can you please review for compatibility and suggest better alternatives for the similar budget. Suggestions will be really appreciated.
Thank you :)

I would suggest changing the cheap i5 to a Xeon E3 1231-V3. It is more suited for your needs. I would also suggest changing the motherboard to an H97 board since you don't need a Z97 motherboard. All you need is an ASRock H97 PRO4. Not a suggestion: Change your PSU to a unit made by Super Flower, Seasonic, Antec, or XFX.

Okay first off, that build has some problems.. Second off, did you even read the OP? He lives in India and if common sense kicks in, that means that their prices are inflated. So a $900 build here is a $1400 build there. :ange:

Edit: Those builds now that they are both up

You'll be able to play those games but not run all that software too well. You should look up the system requirements for each software package. And see what other people are using.

Can you add the inr for each item ion your build list?

- Can XeonE3 1231-V3 handle games and 3D rendering more better than intel i5 4440 ?

- Why do you suggest ASRock H97 PRO4 over Asus Z97 Pro Gamer ? What difference do they make in compatibility as well as gaming and 3D render?

- Antec 650 watt or Seasonic 620 watt ? Which will be better ?

Does Asus Graphic Card and Asus Motherboard combined make any benifit to the system ?

Why don't I need overclocking facility while I am using Asus Gtx Strix 970 ? How does using Xeon justify I don't need overclocking facility ? Would you please explain. I don't understand .

And thanks for the answers :)

I agree with most of this, but on the PSU side, it depends. Seasonic makes some Antec units. It just depends on the model.

Z97 is for overclocking CPU, not GPU. H97 is all you need for a 1231v3, because it cannot be overclocked.

Yes, but in this case the Seasonic will be better considering Seasonic never OEM'd a *50w PSU for Antec.

EDIT: Checked the list and as it appears they did make a *50w PSU.. Just none that are actively sold in NA. Although a neo eco 520w may be made by Seasonic, the 520w Seasonic M12II is a better unit than the Neo. (Why? Warranty. :p)

What if I don't go for Xeon ? What alternatives do I have for CPU as well as MOTHERBOARD ?
