Hi, I am planning on buying an ASUS H97M-E Micro ATX LGA 1150 motherboard as an upgrade for my aging computer, along with an Intel Core i5 4590 CPU. The only problem is that 1) I do not have enough money to re-buy Windows 7, and 2) I want to keep my data on my old HDD, transferring it to my new setup.
I found a tutorial on how to do this, and it seems relatively simple (I am using 'Method One'). The only catch that I can tell is that the first warning of the article reads, from the perspective of the author: "I do not recommend to use this method on RAID systems. All experiments on RAID I know have failed."

What constitutes a "RAID system"? Does using only one hard drive constitute such a system as "non-RAID," in order to avoid rendering the procedure for transferring the installation for Windows 7 inadequate?
