To the community,

I am currently trying to decide on which combination of parts I should have for a effective 2015+ build. At the moment I only have a 1080p monitor and I'm not planning on upgrading soon. I want to be able to play pretty much every game at high/ultra settings and I have a budget of £900 (I have a NZXT H440 already). Any help is appreciated! :)

Build I had in mind was 4690k, gtx 970 and 8gb ddr3.

This build leaves you with room to SLI whenever you'd like, without having to ever buy anything other than the extra graphics card. Maybe the SLI bridge if it's not included, but it's really cheap.

He is from UK so the price is in POUNDS. Not EUROS. And 900£ = 1200€ so he might have quite a bit more space for parts.

Not to say, that build is very good. Just add an 250Gb SSD and change the hdd to regular Western Digital 1Tb. Hybrid HDDs are not worth it.
And add some nice cpu cooler.

Ah, woops, sorry. It was late at night where I mistook the pound symbol for a euro one.

I slid in a GTX 980 into Sapphire's build by removing 8GB of RAM, 130GB of SSD storage, and the CPU cooler.

If it's a 1080P the 980 isn't needed. OP would be better off for general performance gains from HDD's to a larger SSD and nicer mobo.

OP already has a case: NZXT H440.
So my build with 970 and 16Gb RAM, would be so far the best.
250Gb SSD
good cpu cooler for overclocking
16Gb RAM at 1833Mhz
GTX970 for 1080p gaming

A GTX 970 would also suit fine for a 1440p build!
