I have a Binatone DT850W ADLS2 router and an internet connection via DSL (connected through username & password). For now I am connected to the internet via ethernet port. I want to use my ADSL2 router to share the internet over wifi for connecting other devices simultneously. The problem is that the router has only RJ11 input & my internet wire comes with RJ45 plug. I read somewhere that I can use one of the 4 RJ45 LAN ports in the router as an input by using bridge connection & disabling DHCP. I did that but now I am unable to configure the settings to connect to internet via wifi. Can anyone help in this regard?

No. You need a router (without the ASDL modem built in) to log into your ISP and distribute the Intertnet within your LAN.

It sounds like the newer internet service you describe, via an Ethernet port, is from modem. If that is the case, then you need a router with an RJ45 WAN port to use with the modem to share the internet connection.

The internet cable directly runs to my house with an RJ45 plug and I insert it in the ethernet port of my laptop and connect to the internet using the username & password provided by the ISP. Now, I want to use current my ADSL2 router to connect to the internet so that I can connect other devices simultaneoulsy via WiFi. For now, I have to switch on my computer's hotspot everytime I want to use internet on my mobile & other devices.
please tell if there's anyway my current ADSL2 router can be used for this purpose.
