So a new thing happened,,I was playing Splinter Cell Conviction, and while loading a level the screen just went crazy.I mean totally blurry and pixelated. So i restarted the system and while doing so, the computer did it again- it turned on,shut down before POST and this repeated for rather 3-4 times before finally starting up. SO now i am clueless as to what is the problem- PSU,Graphics Card or Monitor. you can refer to another forum which i created for that pre-POST reboot loop thing http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2703150/psu-problem.html

Please guys,help me out :(

Based on your prior issue it likely is your PSU. What graphic card do you have and is it powered on its own through 6/8 pin ports? PSU's can power up and still be bad by over/undervolting.

Theres nothing wrong with your monitor, but whacked out graphical artifacts can be caused by an underpowered graphics card.

I don't think it's the monitor, but you can rule that out as the culprit by hooking it to some other source (e.g. if it has HDMI input, connect it to a game console or your cable box).

I had an issue with a graphics card that caused the PC to have similar problems during POST. Do you have a motherboard with on-board video connections? If so, remove the GPU and try to boot using the on-board video. Let us know if that (POST) works without any issue.

AC works fine, I just played Splinter Cell from where I left off and it works fine too. The problem is the game is poorly optimized,so its giving me lag spikes and all. Is it possible that the game caused the screen to go all bonkers?

If you resolved your prior issue, and other games are not doing it, and now this game isn't doing it, it was likely a glitch or some corruption in the game. Bad programming can do that too.

Welcome to one of the frustrations of PC gaming lol

Let me explain. I finished a level, the game played a cutscene, and when the camera was just moving towards the player, it became laggy and the screen went blank. After some seconds it came back on, but it was pixelated and colorfully grainy. I Alt+F4'd the game and my desktop was pixelated and blurry,so i rebooted the system and thats when the other problem happened. So i am totally confused.

By pixelated and blurry for your desktop do you mean that it was like low resolution? Sometimes when you dump out of a game like that the desktop doesn't restore to the resolution its supposed to.

So then after that the power button issue happened?

And then now everything seems to be working ok, or does it happen occasionally?

Ok I understand now. Based on what you said so far, the Power button, PSU, and Graphics cards all could be culprits. It also could be a programming issue in the game that turned into a wider system issue when the system crashed and corrupted some files. Sometimes it takes time to get back to where it was. That said when the issue has stopped its tough to troubleshoot it.

Some of the things that you should do anyway that are cheap/free are test the power button as mentioned in the other thread (and replace if needed), also check your system temps when playing games, maybe give the inside of your case a quick cleaning/dusting (artifacts like you described can be caused by overheating). And then see if it starts to replicate itself. I wouldn't go spending any money just yet, it may be nothing.

After the reboot i started up GPU-z and ran the game again. Played for a solid 15 mins but the max temp showed was 70 and the hdd temp was 47(I have got a smaller case so this temp is normal). AC: Rogue goes upto 76 degrees but it never does this kinda thing.

Ok that sounds good. At this point then I would wait it out, see if it happens again or gets worse. If its a true problem you should be able to replicate it at that point.

So I took my system to a local guy. He checked and told me there is no problem with my PSU or Graphics Card. And he told me that problem (restart loop before POST) did not occur once at his place. Plus he has also cleaned the insides of my system. SO i brought it home, booted up and voila it happened once again. So now I am thinking is it the UPS? or the PSU cable(unlikely).

Thats very strange but a UPS would not cause that. A bad power cable I guess could cause it, I mean thats the main difference between home and the shop so its worth a try.
